Sorry about the small image size - it was the only way I could keep the crop that I wanted and stay under 200k without major image degradation. I liked the way the bird's breast spots complement the granite boulders.

Wonderful picture, He is pretty well camouflaged. I only wish you could have moved a little to your left so that the boulder in ULC was not running diagonal with the birds "butt" and maybe sharpen just a tad.

    Hi Richard,
I think this really shows how well they blend in with their environs! The angle is nice and I like the darker area of the boulders as it does form a nice line and border. A bit of fill flash may have opened up the darker areas a touch and eye......but still nicely done as presented.

    Richard:

I like the concept, of the matching spots. I might suggest that you burn in the background to darken it a bit, esp. the large boulder behind the birds head. I find the brightness competes too much with the bird.

    Nice HA.

Sweet capture and very lovely exposure on this one. Interesting composition and I like the alert pose. Many thanks for sharing Richard.

Super alert pose, and I feel if you darken the surroundings, he will pop more. Great camouflage too.

Nice alert pose and "in habitat feel". I would suggest darkening the highlights in the background slightly.
