The Swallow Tail Kites keep a close watch as the juvenile prepares to fledge. Such an interesting process as the baby prepares to leave the nest.

The only thing I wish for is a better head turn. Everything else is just about perfect: wingspread, exposure, sharpness, and BG.

    Well Done!

Love the comp. and the diagonal. Great job on exposure on this one.

    Hi Judy Lynn,
You guys and gals down in Fla. are making me soooo jealous. I may go for a hair of lightening on the upper wing......but I like the HA and pose......does look like they are keeping a close eye on something! Nicely done!

I too am jealous as this species is gorgeous. Judy you did a wonderful job here and I love the catch light in the eye. Could the tail be lightened a bit to reveal a little more detail? Congrats.

This is lovely. HA doesn't bother me as it indicates it's doing what it should be and looking after it's kin, not looking at us.

    Beautiful bird Judy!

Great pose and clean sky. I would lighten the upper wing a little.

Judy agree with all above, but do not mind the HA, because you got the nice sparkle in the eye. The exposure is really spot on with a nice blue BG. I am jealous!!!! Big congrads!!

Excellent exposure on the underwing Judy, sharp, and love the wingspread together with the forked tail.
