This was taken in the Pilanesberg Nature Reserve. You may recognise the perch from other images that I have captured here. BTW, this is not the only perch there. Although I didnt manage it from this angle, they have lovely yellow around the tail area. Only a slight showing in this image. It was good to get two together, but Im running before the HA police find me. The BG is an OOF mountain.

Stu, the HAP will shoot ya dude! Lovely birds though. You could fix the eye of the front one as it appears the eyelid has closed? Just copy the rear one forward perhaps, see how that fits. Thanks mate. :)

Killer BG and superb poses Stuart. Love the color and excellent detail. IMO I might add just a tad more canvas on the right. Love this one.

Ah, the HA on the one of the left, the right is not too bad.
It would've been great image. Other than that I really like the
overal color composition, the BG, perch and bird all in tone.
If you can get the yellow to stand out on a bird on this perch
    you'll have a winner. Can't wait:)

I just realized that in this situation you should've tried to pish or imitate their call
and chances are the birds might have turned to you both at the same time.
Just something to try if you have the opprotunity. :)

Thanks a lot guys and Judy.
Akos, didnt think of the eye - will give it a go. Thanks mate.
Ilija, I will definately be going back there sometime, and give the call a go. ( if they are there, or any other two to look my way.)

    Hi Stuart:

Great picture, I like the confident attitude of these birds, the sweet light and the sharpness of the picture. I like also that there aren't distracting elements in the background.

    Bye,

I really like this side shot angle, showing the awesome perch. The HA shows more of the bird's personality, like you caught them both in deep thought. The background is great. Great image!

Very nice. I like the profile. I would add a little room on the right if you can.
