    I took this photo a couple of years ago in a game reserve close to Johannesburg. I like the soft light and textures of the feathers. Would have preferred a softer background but didn't have a longer lens at that stage :(.

    Nikon 70-200 + 1.4x
    1/500s f4 Matrix metering - flash -1.3

    I like the background, the light & the feather details. The crop is really cool, very nice Tony.

    Such a cool looking bird. I have nothing to improve aside from a matter of taste. I'd crop just in front of the leg, but that's just me.

    I like the details, exposure control and the BG works for me, too, even though the color of the 'spikes' on the back of the head and the BG look relatively similar. It might work as a vertical crop as well, but I like it as is.

    Lovely on all counts. If you could have gotten a bit lower you could have softened up the background a bit by effectively "moving" it farther from the bird.

    Beautiful color and detail. These birds are so gorgeous. I like the crop as it is. Beautifully captured.
