Lovely image sir.. loved the detail, pose and BG. I think a tad more brightness, and a little selective sharpening near the neck would help.

Nice image with a nice pose. Love the details on the wing and back. You should try to remove the overall veil-like dull layer by increasing lightness and contrast with levels. Result will improve the look a lot.

Still too dark Harshad. Kobus's version looks good on my monitor.

Harshad, Very lovely. I know it's hard to take pictures in the forest without a flash. HA, sharpness and BG are excellent. I love the subtle colors of the bird.

I'd also say the bird is too centered along the horizontal in the frame.
Crop from left and bottom could improve the comp.

Harshad, you havent included all your tech details with regards to ss and aperture. That way we can try and work out why the image seems a bit dark/under exposed. Super pose, and I would maybe take a bit off the left. Kobus's repost show up nicely.

    Hi Harshad,
I too thought it was a bit dark so I lightened using levels and curves. I also ran noise ninja on the BG only and a final LCE adjustment around 30/40/0. I have been known to like the crop tool a little too much:D......so I am showing that as others have brought up removing some off the left. Of course being me.....I had to do a little extra:eek:. Very nice job on the BG and perch......just little tweaks will make this shine. let me know your thoughts
PS lloking at it now I am very close to Kobus....only other difference is crop.

Harshad: I very much enjoy your work, especially your earlier post of the adult roller with the captured wasp and the two young rollers begging to be fed (my interpretation of the scene). I vote for your 7:05am version for its richer colors compared to the lighter versions. Also, the OOF background is more interesting in the darker versions, to me.

Hi Harshad, A beautiful photo of a beautiful bird, but it is too dark IMO. I like the brightness in Kobus' repost, and Roman's crop. Excellent BG, sharpness and details, HA. Well done!

    Cheers!
