    Great work with the exposure,
sharp light but there are no major shadows present,
love the BG, same tonality as the subject,
the extra blue color is just perfect.
    Some powerful bird.
    I love it!

Nice landing pose, good BG. I like the textures in the wing feathers. As posted I would only suggest lightening the eye a bit, but overall very nice :-)

    Hi Stephen,

Really like the shot. I would try to see how it looks with a bit more space on the bottom and a slight crop on the right. Just love the background.

    Regards,
    Jorge

Beautiful shot, and a surprising amount of DOF for f/4. It worked perfectly here, but in general I would stop down when working large birds like this (especially with enough available light to pull off 1/4000). You guys in the African contingent are making want to go out and buy a ticket to your amazing continent!

Steve, you guys in Africa have too much light; send some our way.

Light, detail, sharpness, stunning colourful BG, what else could you ask for in this image Stephen. I like the posture too. Comp wise, I would take a bit off the right, and add to the bottom as a vertical crop. Just a thought.

    Fantastic capture Stephen.
Love the detail captured pose and comp.
The BG looks great as presented but I think it is over saturated? (not natural?)

Thx everyone for your comments. Dave, no saturation added. I dropped the exposure on the bg a bit and upped the contrast which resulted in what you see. Also ran nr on the bg.

One of the better images I have seen from GC. Light and posture is great, the diagonal lines in the background is very pleasing - gives a sense of movement. Exposure on whites good - too bad about the shadow in the eye, its inevitable.
