Very nice peaceful image. Lovely colors indeed. I loved to see them all around the Kruger Park in January. When did you make this image?
    Sharpness is very nice.

Beautiful capture with lovely color and detail . The BG is very clean with great complimentary colors but I would like to see a slight CW rotation as the horizon is slightly slanted to the left. Gorgeous species and many thanks for sharing Chris.

Very nice Chris. I'm glad that you can still clearly make out the eye colours even though the head is in high contrast with the bright skyline.

    Chris:

    Lovely bird,sharp,well exposed, good pose.

I am not thrilled about the upper third of the background. The transition of the horizon passing through the neck is a bit distracting. The lower transition isn't as bothersome to me. You might be able to selectively darken the sky, blur the transition more, to decrease the effect. I suspect it wasn't an option, but if you could have gotten a bit higher to eliminate the sky from the background, that might have worked.

Just my .02 cents! Lovely bird!

Chris, when I was in Kruger in Feb, these guys were everywhere, and although I got quite a few shots of them - not one was worth posting. Good natural colours, and a typical lazy pose. Good job on the eye too.

I agree about the transition from green to blue in the background, it looks like it cutting the bird's neck to me. However I like lower transition, it kind of show the environment that the bird is in. I also like the lovely color and sharp details.

Exposure is spot-on & I like the natural colours, eye contact & pose. Ditto BG, but still a great capture!

I like everything about this image except the position of the blue skyline. Great details, exposure, comp and sharpness...BG is great also but for the position of the green to blue transition.

    Cheers!
