Nice pose and light. The rising left foot and resultant water pull add interest.
Extending the canvas on the left might be worth considering (if you're comfortable with doing that) and maybe a bit more sharpening.

Great pose and detail. Sharpness looks ok on my monitor. The only thing I would say is that it looks a bit hemmed in, and a bit of space to the left would be good if any was available.

Love the wing up position, sharpness looks alright to me. Agree with more room.

Wow! Great wingspread, BG, and lovely golden light. I like the close crop, and it seems tack sharp to me. I agree with Alan on the brightness though.

Super low angle, and what sweet light, showing up lovely warm colours. I agree some selective sharpening will work, and adding to the left too.

stunning pose and details! another vote here for lighter and more canvas to the left and I would also consider rotating slightly clockwise to straighten the waterline.

Hey Jan, Stunning, stunning, stunning. Love the rasied wings and the killer light and the raised foot and the streaked belly. IMNSHO, this does NOT need any CW rotation....

it was taken in Oktober on a small Island in the North Sea (Germany), where you have fantastic chances for shorebirds.

Thanks Jan. The timing confirms that it is in fresh juvenal plumage.
