    “Midnight Breeze”

    Note: The base image was under exposed to create the night light.

    This nocturnal beauty was painted with a Nikon D300, using a Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D IF-ED macro lens.

    Image Solution:
    focal length @ 60mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / 1/60sec. - f/11 / exposure comp @ -1.0EV / ISO @ 320 / white balance @ custom profile, using an Expo disk for color calibration / AF - Mode @ manual / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution – a 24” soft box placed at a 60 degree angle. / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +1 degree / saturation factor @ +2 degrees / support platform - tripod assist, with macro focusing rail, and remote electronic trigger release /

    What really appeals to me is how you captured the feeling of motion and softness - I've really been captivated by your recent flower macros but this one is a real stunner. No critique from me!

    Great mood, and color composition.
    I like it.

    Question: Why do you use remote release? Is there a particular reason with macro
    for better sharpness?

    is that a dandelion seedhead!!? and if it is, where did you get it this time of year?

    i love the compo. the softness is fantastic with tones of feel. another great one!!
