This image was created with the Nikon D300 and 200-400 f4 lens ISO 200 1/400 at 7.1 and SB 800 flash. I liked the image simply because of the way the bird was holding unto the branch.

Beautiful. liked the pose, the head angle, the bokeh. The leaves are distracting. And the one twig on the left of the main perch. If you do cloning, you can do that. Excellent capture of an excellent moment.

Yeah, the leaves are not helping here. I would also crop a little branches. One on the top left and the other showing under the bird.

What a great pose! Amazing that you got the little guy looking back at you :-) I'm on the fence about the leaves...but leaning towards not liking them. I would clone out the small protruding twig at top but NOT the one under the bird. I actually wish the foot was not visible. The yellows are slightly clipped on the face - selectively desaturating the yellow channel a couple of points on the face only should fix that nicely. Interesting black tip to the bill??

Nice exposure with good smooth BG. I agree that the leaves and small branch should be removed if it is within your ethics.

Very nice. I especially love the dorsal view and HA here. Super sharp also. I to agree with getting rid of the twig up top. I'm not sure if I hate the leaves though?

This is a beautiful shot. One suggestion, the leaves at the bottom can be cloned out.

An unusual pose, but you timed it well. Excellent exposure on the blacks and yellows, and what a killer BG. I would get rid of the leaves at the bottom, and maybe take a bit off the bottom too.

The pose and BG are really nice. Another vote for considering cloning out the stick through the bottom of the bird and the leaves... then maybe re-cropping it for composition. It also looks like their is a halo above the birds head, do you see that?

Ditto Mike. I love the details in the black wings. What is with the black tip on the beak?

Thanks for you input, I've made some changes, the black beak is from the seed in the feeder.
