    Hi,

    Median Egret. Scientific name Egretta intermedia.Took this photograph at Ranganathtittu Bird Santuary near Bangalore.
    Canon 50D, 100-400 IS USM, ISO 200, f5.6

    Interesting to see the differences, particularly eye and lore. I like the details and eye contact and would give it more room at the bottom for the 'virtual' feet. What species is in the BG? The lore looks quite different.

    I like the detail of the bird, especially the head. The eye color is very interesting. I agree with Axel's suggestion of including more room at the bottom if you have it. My only other suggestion would be to try and darken the highlights in the background. Thanks for sharing as it is always fun to see different species.

    Axel, I think the bird behind should also be of the same species, since it was big nesting colony with lof of birds.
