    Taken yesterday at a local swamp, unfortunatly i missed the stab as I was changing settings for the action shot!

    D300 / 200-400 VR
    1/320s f/7.1 at 550.0mm iso200
    tripod, natural light, 60% of ff

    Pose and sharpness look good. I like the wide crop but would crop a bit off the bottom.

    agree with Axel on the crop. Loved the pose and the head angle. But the situation itself looks less-than-ideal for photography. strong light from top, busy FG and FG... and probably the bank is raised w.r.t the water preventing you getting an eye-level angle.

    Excellent Shot!!! I love the composition and position of the Heron as it readies to strike for a fish, frog etc.....

    I love the pose you can almost feel the tension. I also like the inclusion of the habitat. It helps give me a sense of scale and adds to the story/feel of the picture. I agree with Axel on his cropping suggestion. Thanks for sharing.

    I have to agree with Kaustubn on this one. He covered what I was going to comment. Could be improved by a pano crop though. regards~Bill
