Default Gremlins? Images Not Saving to Card on 5d Mark II?

Strangest thing happened to me yesterday evening while shooting fireworks. At some point, the images stopped saving. Don't know if I pressed something by accident in the dark, but all of a sudden, the images were still being taken (8-10 second exposures), but when the pic was over, nothing saved. I changed cards and got the same thing.

I was not getting any errors.

I don't know what I did, messing with the buttons, but it did manage to resume shooting and saving images.

Wonder if this has happened to anyone and/or if there is some button on the camera that an inadvertant push may cause this phenomena?

I did have mirror lock up; I wonder if I did something to keep it from recording.
