This is the deposed King of the Feeder in my backyard. He was vanquished by the Rufous Hummingbird male that I posted earlier.

    Canon 50D, Canon 500 f/4 L with Canon 1.4x II extender, ISO 400, 1/60s, f/5.6, +1 EC, Gitzo with gimbal head .

All comments and critiques are very welcome and appreciated...thanks for looking!

    Cheers!

I love the bird, good perch, nice BG,
Looks bit too contrasty: maybe over-sharpened
and/or the gorget bit oversaturated. Other than that
    very pleasing hummer image.

Love the colors and BG. well done Bruce. I would crop a little from the left at least. Still looks a bit too centered for me. Thanks for sharing. :)

I love it as is. Centered is fine for VERTs as long as the bird is big enough in the frame. This one is. Besides, it is not really centered.... Draw a VERT line through the center of its body and you will see.... The gorget does not look over-SATed to me. I love the head turn as it gives the perfect view of the gorget. Lastly, it does not look oversharpened to me and when I tilt the screen there are no halos. Boys and girls and discoverers of new fish species, not all crtiques need include negatives....

I would be quite happy to have this one in my files. Love the gorget and BG.
