Default Abstract Challenge: Day Lily Colors

Took me a while to come up with a decent abstract for the contest. This afternoon, I thought of trying day lilies and lo and behold this shot was just waiting for me :) Any C&C are welcome!

Beautiful colors and lines. The BG in lower right corner might be less distracting if it were more blurred. Nice job.

I agree with Anita on this one. The actual petal is lovely. The color, the lines, the flow, the texture are all spot on. I just wish the background worked a little bit better here.

Don't these make the best subject, Christopher? The way the petals let the light flow right through - they are amazing to photograph.

I agree with the others - the diagonal composition is nice and the details are good but the bottom corner does pull my eye away a bit.

Thanks for the comments. I tried blurring the LRC and using the clone stamp to even it out a bit. Does this look better?

To my eye, it looks better. You might try evening out the colors a bit more. Nice work.

I like the colors and composition... very peaceful image. I also prefer the repost to the original.

I prefer the repost as well. If the background in the upper left corner and lower right matched closely I think this would have been a killer shot.
