Osprey was coming into land on nest.
The visible portion of the nest in the RAW image was removed, and replaced with water, using Robert O'Toole's APTATS Quick Mask technique.

    Hi Dennis,

It is a lovely pose. However, I would go back and see if you can capture him on better light to bring the under wing details and warm light!!

Nice pose and BG. The position of the talons adds interest. I would crop a bit off the top and bottom.

Yes to a crop from the bottom. You need to practice your QMing techniuqes as there are obvious repeating patterns in the water at the bottom of the frame. Good job of capturing a nice pose and good exposure. Needs more light on the face and needs to be sharper. Lightneing the iris and darkening the pupil would help a great deal and if you work very large you can do that easily with QMs. I love the little puffin head on the bird's left wing. Nice touch!

    Later and love, artie

    Great comments and guidance.

Look forward to catching up with you/Todd in Kenya in August (providing all the turmoil settles down).
