    Shot this a Nickerson Beach on Friday. From time to time the black skimmers and terns would rise up together then settle down. 40D on Gitzo Tripod with Wimberley head. 500 MM at f9, 1/1250 sec. ISO 400

    Nice image. I like how you timed it to get most of them from the top side and most of the birds being in the same plane of focus making them sharp from edge to edge.

    Very nice capture with good exposure and definition. I wish you had cleaner edges on the right and bottom as you do on the other two edges.
    I like the single Tern on the upper left.

    Yes, getting them all on the same plane with mostly dorsal views is a coup. The many bird on bird merges are unfortunate.

    Difficult opportunity but well executed! Pity about the OOF individuals in the bottom of the frame, but still works for me, the sharpness and light on the banking ones are great.
