Osprey was coming into land on nest.
The visible portion of the nest in the RAW image was removed, and replaced with water, using Robert O'Toole's APTATS Quick Mask technique.
Yes to a crop from the bottom. You need to practice your QMing techniuqes as there are obvious repeating patterns in the water at the bottom of the frame. Good job of capturing a nice pose and good exposure. Needs more light on the face and needs to be sharper. Lightneing the iris and darkening the pupil would help a great deal and if you work very large you can do that easily with QMs. I love the little puffin head on the bird's left wing. Nice touch!
