    I was binning some pics to create space on the HD when I came across this one. Like the backlit beak & dark BG. All crits & cooments welcome.

    Like it loads well done. Great comp and exposure(bill maybe a bit bright)

    Love the backlit bill, though I would tone down the yellows there. Did you use fill flash?

    The backlit and glowing bill really make this an interesting image.

    Love the glowing bill and the profile shown. May crop on the right to get the sunny part of the plumage out.

    Welcome Gerrie, I like this a lot but you could make it better. #1: Tone down the yellow SAT and brightness. #2: Did you use flash? (It seems that you did as there is an eye highlight...) Using more flash would have helped to light the shadowed side of the bird. I love the image design but not the sun on the back of the bird.

    Can you brighten the head perhaps, I like the overall look of the bill though all together
    with the back light, very interesting image and superb bird.

    I like the backlight effect, especially with the light through the bill. I like the comp as is.

    Love the glowing amber bill. A bit of fill flash would have preserved the look of the bill while brightening the bird's face a bit. Very nice image!

    Wow.... too good stuff this... very well done.. the species looks like a colourful version of our Malabar Hornbill...
