Default Black skimmer in front of dunes

An early morning image from Nickerson Beach. The huge rain-caused puddles are nearly gone, except for a couple small ones back in the grasses which made for some nice opportunities as the birds came in to bathe and drink in what's left.

The famous Nickerson Beach. Nice pose and BG on this guy. I can't tell if there is a small greenish cast to the birds whites?

Congratulations on the milestone, Grace! The light, pose and BG make this one for me. I might sharpen the bird a tad more.

Great shot Grace. I really like the dorsal view coming at you, the eye contact, exposure looks right on, nice comp and the grass background makes it different from most other skimmer images. Well done! Congrats on 1000 posts!

    Cheers!

Very nice banking flight, with very sweet light and BG. May sharpen the eye some more.

Hi Grace, I like the overall composition. The diagonal line of the bird and placement in frame. I also like that you can get a sense of habitat without it being distracting. Good show.

Like the bird and the setting but there seems to be a big cast on the whole bird, even the blacks.

Lovely banking pose, great BG. The light looks fabulous. THanks for sharing. Probably could sharpen a touch more?
