Default Raw Conversion Speed: DPP vs Aperture

I was stunned to see today how quickly Aperture converted a raw file to 16 bit tiff in comparison to DPP which I am using at the moment. Aperture was running on another Macbook Pro which according to specs should be slower than mine.

Has anyone compared those two programs and perhaps ACR as well regarding the speed with which each is converting the same raw file on the same computer?

    Thanks, JR

Interesting comparison of different raw converters. Aperture is unfortunately lacking.

On my computer ACR takes about 2-3 seconds to convert a RAW file to 16bit TIFF. I'm not familiar with DPP.

DPP is definitely slower, probably 5 - 6 seconds. Thanks for the feedback. JR
