This is the RUfous Hummingbird male that has taken control of one of the feeders in my yard. He displaced a male Calliope Hummingbird that was king for the last few weeks. He obviously didn't think much of my photographic efforts this morning...what do you think?
Canon 50D, 500 f/4 with 1.4x, ISO 400, 1/800s f/5.6 EC+0, tripod, BWG-HD MkII gimbal head, no flash
Comments and critiques are much appreciated, and thanks for looking!
I think it needs a reduction in contrast, sat, burn the branch some and remove the noise from the background and you will have a stronger image. More dof to have the tail in focus would have been nice too.
Thank-you Axel, Kobus, Stuart and Ramon! I really enjoy these little guys and hopefully next spring/summer I will doing high-speed in flight images of them following the guidance in Linda Robbins book.
