Found this Forest Beauty sitting at His nest.
Shooting can be rather challenging due to the constant changing of light and shadows.

I really like this shot. Great colours and exposure. I would like some more space at the top and a bit less at the bottom
Wow, this is a stunning image. What is the species name? Excellent use of flash and great EXP control. If you had moved two inches to your right you could have separated the bill from the lefthand of the two branches. I love also the nice view of the tail. A crop from the bottom would yield a perfect COMP for me. The amount of space above the bird is fine.

Great find and beautiful bird. Adding to the other comments, I would clone out the OOF branch sticking out of the head.
If you implement the above suggestions you will have a fine image. Gorgeous bird in habitat.
Mervin...well done! love the bird. The nest details are captured very nicely. Love the bokeh. If you are not into cloning, then you might just want to tone down the green channel in the OOF green leaf on the left side.
Thanks for all your kind comments and suggestions.
Points noted.
Arthur - This is a Asian forest bird call Black-naped Monarch, Hypohymis asurea. I wish I could get a better angle however the lighting was not in my favour and space to move is another issue. :o
Black-naped Monarch is among my wish list to photograph in front of a clear bg. I so much loved to see in wild in Thailand and in Indonesia. This image represent the gorgeous blue colors it has. Wish to see an image taken away from nest. Try to avoid nest disturbance ;)
Szimi
Hi Szimi,
yes it would be ideal to take pictures with clear BG and nice perches however You and I know that that is not always possible especially with forest birds.
I will not walk away when a photo opportunity arises especially with a subject that I have been "hunting" for a period of time bearing in mind as long as the subject does not suffer any adverse effect.
One good indication is when both parents keep coming back and feeding their chicks without hesitatation. :)
