    Default Theme (sort of) DLB

This creation really doesn't qualify for this theme but I couldn't resist. The image is a digital capture of one of my own Chinese brush paintings (Asian Theme!:D). The painting is my rendition, inspired by one of my own digital captures of a White-tailed Kite (a mouthfull there:eek:). I added an artistic filter layer (paint daubs) and the sig/chop in CS3:).

Dan, I think I've heard of DLB before I think he's an artist that specializes in Asian Art.:D:eek::p I think you have a home run here!! I love this it's very creative. I like the bamboo, the watercolor look on the BG. The only thing I don't like and it's very minor is the catchlight. But I gotta tell you- this is really, really nice!!!

Very Asian Daniel indeed. I think you did exceptionally well with this, thanks for sharing. :)

You really ARE an artist. I love the Asian theme. My mother was an artist and she loved to paint with an Asian theme......brought back some fond memories. Well done.

Let me see if I understand. The posted image is a painting that you did with some PS filters applied??? In other words, you started with a blank canvas not with a photograph....

Artie, I started with a painting that I created with Chinese watercolors and brushes on rice paper, then digitally photographed it, then applied PS filters and sig/chop.

wow Dan, I missed this one.
Verrrrrrry nice sir, kind of agree about the catchlight being a bit odd/big.
May be more effective as a slight arch rather than a dot.
But that is really nit nitting......we don't do that.

    beautiful work sir

Thanks Dan. What is a sig/chop.

I love everything about the creation but I find the HA less than perfect. I am often at a loss when I see wildlife artists cut birds in half with the frame edge or have the birds flying away, or paint ducks in flight with bad merges....

Thanks so much Artie! Art is in the eye of the beholder, I felt that the HA was nice:). Sig/chop refers to the DLB in the upper left (signature) and the red stamp in the lower right (chop, the term for the stamp used in Asian art).

Thanks for getting back to me on that. IAC, the image that you have created is quite lovely. I have had it up on my screen for about an hour looking at it every so often.
