This Ruby-throated Hummingbird image was captured with a Nikon D300 and f4 500mm lens at 7.1 1/500 sec ISO 200 and SB 800 flash Wimberley II head on a very nice Gitzo GT 5541LS Tripod. These hummers are no where near a feeder and a very hard to focus on before they leave the area. They come out of nowhere and only stay for a second and their gone. I chose this photo because I like the rich geen colors and the angle and the eye. Thanks Rod
Very nice image Rod! Too bad about the angle but the sharpness is good and I really like the leaves, they are like brush strokes! I seem the see a halo around the bird however.
Can't beat the hummers, even w/o HA they look good.
I think the image is oversharpened, I see halo on the edge of the bird
and bit of noise in BG. NR in BG I think could be done here.
