I was out shooting blurs and notice the beautiful colors coming out-So I took some shots, didn't have my tripod so I laid my camera on a drainage pipe. I added an Orton action to add to the dreamy look. I didn't add color or saturation, I esp. liked the purple hues in the image.
Self critique, I needed a tripod, I wish I had composed it differently w/ the ROT in mind for the shed on the end of the pier. I put the horizon kind of in the center because I liked the way the water looked and wanted to include it.

awesome color and even a bit more fog look at bottom would be appealing.
Horizon "just" enough off center IMO

Thankyou all for your comments- I appreciate it. Dave, I may try to add some fog in color-efex. If it looks good I'll post it.

Lovely Denise - just been watching a tutorial on Imaginary colours and the LAB workspace that applies to sunsets in particular - basically RGB Gammet is limited in its range of colours - LAB has a much wider range, so in LAB you will get richer more vibrant colours that do not exist in RGB - this is the cool part - once you convert back to RGB the colours stick.

Really intresting stuff - Its a Kelby video - Advanced LAB or something.

Denise, convert to LAB.....then on channels pallete, select the A channel and
do a curves adjustment to steepen the curve. It will remain linear, just drag top
to the left and bottom to the right in equal small amounts.

Do same for B channel......then convert back to RGB. I tried your image and it looks great
    if done subtly

Dave and Lance thankyou both for the info-I had a chance today to try it out and it's pretty cool- I may have gone a bit far with this but I loved the "fiery" look.
