    Al,

I think the image would do better in a vertical, due to the dark tree areas on the left and right. Would need some detail there to make it work as shown, in my view.

Sorry for the big crop, but I think this is the area that could make it work. It would also be nice to have more of the reflection in the water. But realize the limits of the lens.

Two different takes and I think I prefer the original, Alred. Love the moodiness the color brings.

A vertical would work also and actually shot one :) Liked the horizontal with more of the red showing Again just a mater of feel !! btw do feel strongly to shoot both ways and work the image Great having the luxury of picking one later !!!

One of the things I did not like of the vertical was the horizon line, I don't like it at the middle and moving it up or down would do away with areas of interest !!!!

Alfred, First I' like to say I love your fly image in your signature area!!
The colors in this are fantastic and I prefer the horizontal it gives a sense of place to the image , beautiful light and a very peaceful look to this!!

gotta be the horizontal to keep the egret in the image. Lake Martin
has been well devastated by the hurricanes, hope it comes back well
and not have to wait 20 years..

Is that an inhabited house in the bg?

Not sure Dave I think that image was made from the dock by the boat ramp !!!

.... Denise I had to go with the fly since its about the only thing I'm finding :)

I like the image very much also, especially that is a little detail in the trees, that they are not completely blacked out. Al, is this due to adjusting or were they that way from the camera? The more details in the image, the longer I tend to want to view it.
