    Default Carry a short lens...Arghhhhh

Artie always preaches tocarry a short lens...I was at Ft. DeSoto for sunrise then headed over to the beach just to the right of the fishing pier to search for skimmers. I walked about 1/2 way to the pier when two rangers motioned me over...A loggerhead turtle was just off the beach in the grassy area laying eggs and camouflaging her nest.

It was an amazing sight but I could have used a short lens as she headed back to the sea......

You can always stitch if there's not too much movement...

I always carry a good P&S like a Canon G10 or a Panasonic Lumix which can fit in a vest pocket for such moments. You never know.

I almost always have the 24-105 or my old 28-135 with me. I didn't have my vest or Thinktank. I was too far from the car to run back..
