While imaging the hunting snowys, this beauty decided to use the railing next to me as a hunting perch. Luckily I was on the right side for the early morning light and the dewy dark cypress was a nice contrasting BG. Created this past weekend at Wako.

Quite lovely. Perfect EXP and handling of the whites. These can be somewhat awkward COMPs but you have done nicely. Only bummer? The few missing feathers on the head....

Nice crop. I like the sheen on his feathers, intent look and the background.

Excellent work. You could gently touch up the missing feathers if you are OK with that! :)

I like the composition, but there is almost a noise reduction smoothness and lack of feather detail. I know it is a white bird, a problem in itself, but I think a slight angle of the sun might have helped. Head on light doesn't seem to create the small shadows needed for surface definition. regards~Bill

You did a very good job in controling the white, one thing that bothers me is the smoothness of the feathers, was it because of noise reduction?

Nice pose and sharpness in a clean BG, with good light.

No NR was needed and William is right that I was right on the sun angle. Also, it's amazing how different feathers will look when pulled in verses fluffed.

Pin sharp David, and you have controlled the whites nicely. White subjects always test us with our abilities in processing, to achieve the best end result. I do detect a bit of noise in the BG.
