May be common, but its my first - taken on a wetlands adjacent to University of Washington on May 29, 2009
Its one of the many Warblers. They tend to be very flighty. I was lucky this guy/gal showed up close enough for
my 400 and almost full frame.
Canon 40 D 400mm f5.6L 1/800s, f5.6, ISO 250, one-shot AF, Av, ec 0. hand held (as usual).
Also, as usual, I say on Av and adjust the ISO to get close to 1/1000s for bird shots.
Nice natural moment with the prey in the bill, good pose and great colors and detail, light was a little harsh to my taste and BG too bussy, but as said, thye natural moment is great to me.
Congratulations!
I wish the diagonal branch in the BG were not there, I don't mind the OOF leaf in the FG though. The prey makes it special. COngrats on your capture. :)
This is a female COYE. Nicely done against the dark BG (as mentioned), if still a little "harsh". Congrats on the capture with prey item, probably bringing vittles back to the brood!
