    Default Northern Hawk Owl

    1DM2n, 600mm.. ISO 250, 1/1600, F 5.0...

I just saw Jody's sweet Snowy Owl shot and it reminded me of this one of our well known hawk owl... The lower wingtip was clipped off, and somewhat blocked by an OOF branch, so I used the upper wing to re-create the wingtip, and added a bunch of canvas to the top and bottom. I created this as a horizontal, but it actually ended up being full-frame size after the work I did.

Th e bird was baited, and he/she actually has a mouse in this picture. It was on its way to find a good place to cache its meal.

    Happy Shooting!

Spectacular before and after capture. I just love that face looking out from a pile of feathers! The movement blur in the primaries is amazing at 1/1600. Heck, we get the same thing with the hummers with effective shutter speeds of > 1/4,000 sec!

Great capture. Later and love, artie

I like the intense look and wing position. I might have raised the ISO for higher shutter speed.

Yeehaw! :D Great job on the repair, Brandon. What a pose! Love the eye contact. I always shoot at ISO400 to keep the shutter speed up.
