This guy is normally found around the tropical coastline of Durban, but they have now moved inland too.

    Hi Stuart,
Neat perch, good looking bird, and a nicely overall colored image. I like the look back pose but you know the HA police will be paying you a visit :). I think this could use a slight boost in contrast.

Nice one Stuart, I think the bird could be sharper. The composition works well for me, I also like the clean background.

Pest or not, it's a good-looking bird. I like the light, angle and BG. It would have been good if the head were parallel to the camera sensor in this case and it could go a bit sharper for my taste. I might give it more room at the bottom.

I like the pose, but the HAP will have a field day Stu! :D A touch more sat for me.

So people know a bit more about these birds, the Indian Myna (or Mynah) is a horrible, introduced beast. It competes and dominates urban scenery in many Australian towns and displaces, kicks out, native birds from their nest hollows, eating young as well. They are about the ONLY bird I would get immediately euthanased if it came into my care, and there are other introduced pests. These guys are such a huge problem in my country that many local councils have started to plan ways to eradicate them. Unfortunately, they seem to be breeding all year and are a hardy species. A real threat to local biodiversities.

Thank you all for the great feedback and input.

Kobus, great repost. I like the sat you have added, together with the work on the perch. Thanks a lot mate.

Stuart, I really like the pastel color theme of this image, together with a unique pose, perch, and creamy BG. I thought I've seen this bird in Florida when I was there but didn't know what it was at the time. Andy

Nice looking bird. Love the BG. The square frame does not convince me, it would have been better to have more empty space on the right but that's just how I see it. Great image anyways.
