    Default Grasshopper Sparrow

Photographed in a meadow a few days ago. I posted an image in this series before. I tried a different crop here and am wondering which one you prefer. Here is the previous one: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=39822

    1D3, 500f4, 1.4x, 1/160s, f/8, ISO 400, cropped from horizontal

    Excellent image Axel as before.

This crop is actually better for me than the previous one.
The bird and the right flower are aligned which helps the comp a lot.
The bird is in a more vertical pose with the vertical crop emphasizing it.
Also both flowers lead to a corner which makes it really good comp for me.
The only problem I have with the composition is the small plant at the lower
edge. If it was connected to the rest of the flowers it would have been OK I guess.
Or if it had longer stem. This way is kind of awkward. Would you put a flower with such short
    stem in a vase?

Of course other than that the image is a perfection.

I like the comp on this one way better, including the small plant in the lower right
which, for my taste, adds balance to the composition.
The only thing that I might consider changing is to move everything just a hair more
to the left in the frame.

Nice composition and colors. I like the way the far thistle twists around the stem of the one the bird is on.

Beauty, I love the pose of the bird better here more than the crop.

I actually prefer this one, as I like how the stem is curled around the other one, ( which we didnt see in your OP.) The lower thistle doesnt distract, but adds to the image, and if you have any more space at the bottom, I would like to see the join.

I like both images as well, I could live with either of them but this pose is better IMO. Nice light, pose, comp, BG, perch, and naural moment captured. Congratulatons!

I love the image design here. The bird's breast looks as if it a bit too peachy (but this is a species that I do not know in life).

Thanks, Artie! In warm light the plumage looked a bit 'peachy'. I really like these sparrows and go back sometimes to see and hear them.
