    I was standing at a dock in Stornaway, trying to get a photo of a Arctic Tern that kept flying around and landing on various boats...this breeding plumage (note red orbital eye ring) GBB Gull landed right beside me. He was unaware I was around..which gave me the opportunity to snap one photo before he saw me and left...

    Here in my part of the country we very seldom get to see these largest of gulls in breeding colors..

    Wish he'd been just a little further away, so I'd have some canvass to work with...photo is full frame.

    I like the walking pose and breeding colors, interesting setting, too. I agree that it is a bit tight and I wish the bird were not angled away from you. I would sharpen more and it could go a bit brighter for my taste.

    Great plumage on this guy.
    Agree that it needs more room and a slight head turn. A catchlight would help IMO.
