    Default Peregrine Falcon Flight

I just returned from a month long, cross country road trip. The first week of the trip was spent photographing nesting Peregrine Falcons in Southern California with Doug Brown. The babies fledged 2 days before we arrived. The nest was on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Mostly cloudy days and high winds blowing at us made the photography difficult. Flight shots were extremely difficult due to the winds and speed of the birds. Here is one of the youngsters.

Excellent dorsal view Jim, I love the detail in the plumage. Not a common view that's for sure. Thanks for sharing.

A striking dorsal view and very sharp, Jim. The open beak is a big plus. Very well done.

    Absolutely stunning flight image!
Love the topside view, the water BG, and the "3D" look.

Would love to have seen what you would have come up with if conditions were good! ;)

Another beautifully detailed, sharp and stunning BIF Jim! I love the light, the dorsal view, and the intense look with open beak. I also really like the mottled grey background which really sets the bird off nicely, and gives the image a bit of a dark, foreboding mood. Excellent, excellent!!

    Cheers!

Great shot Jim! Sharpness and exp are perfect! Love the dorsal view! The light areas in the BG (the surf below?) really give a sense of height! I only wish that I had been there:).

I don't mind the top down view at all. That open mouth with the wing position creates a sense of speed.

Des, thanks for the encouragement! It will not be for lack of trying; between Jim and James I will be saturated with opportunities and technique. They are both Masters with their tools!!

Canon oh Canon - where is the 1D4? Gosh, they are so independent; they just don't listen :D.

Jim, is that pressure on me as a student or you as a teacher? ;)
    Cheers, Jay

Excellent dorsal view, one sees so much more detail. Sharp, super wingspread, and the open beak makes this for me. Well captured.
