Great find and I don't think I've seen an image of a juvenile of this species before. I like the wide crop, eye contact and setting. It looks a bit dark on my monitor. I adjusted midtones and white point. If it were mine I would raise the color temperature in the RAW file. Judging from the techs you had not much light and I think you did very well considering the circumstances. The noise level is quite low for ISO 3200. Positive EC would have been a good idea but you might not have gotten a sharp image. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!

Wow, very impressive habitat image with very good composition.
Although Axel's version reveals more detail in the environment, I prefer the dark moody original. More mysterious :)

Also in english (sorry my bad english).

My images are quite dark and moody usually, because I like them that way :D I also likes big old dark REAL forests, where usually are no light. But the owl in my photo may need more light in my picture.

Axel's version is too bright for me. David's version is closer, but looks maybe too "made of". Maybe I do a new version of my image at the evening...

I thinked about adjusting the eyes... and also adjusted them a little.
Photo is taked after the sunset, so that is where the blue color cast is from...

You might be right. David's owl is more contrastier and the owl's face is better... Stronger vinjent is also ok. Maybe I adjust some more :D

Good plan Janne. Sometimes it is not easy though to get the same results in Photoshop as someone who is very skilled. It takes time and practice.

I sometimes have thinked that maybe I should do little different versions of the images and decide that way which is the best. Sometimes I put some picture to my website and when time goes by... that picture doesn't look good to me anymore... I make a new version. Again and again...
