Not too active lately on this board. But here is one for this weeks theme. My wife confirmed it looks like a Monet, so that is the way I labeled it! ;) I know the works, but not always the creater thereof. She does, I think. :D

I liked the way the colors on the wings match the colors of the background.

    Anway, Enjoy!

Mark, Better late than never. I love the look of this. If your wife says it's Monet than it's a Monet!!! :)The colors and the soft rendition are fantastic! Well done.

I think it's more like Seurat, who created a style known as pointillism:

    Beautifully done, Mark

Nice one Mark! lovely feel to the image indeed. I cannot suggest the artist whose work it resembles as I am an artsy virgin really, but if I may suggest that a little off center would be more powerful. Still fabulous as is, just a consideration of another compsitional option. Thanks for sharing.

Mark, it actually reminds me of Degas (not the subject but the treatment - picture her as a ballerina) Beautiful colors!

That makes two of us. Ákos! ;)

My wife is the art expert in our family. Not that she is or was right, but she is more right then I ever am. If it's a O'Keefe or Ansel Adams, I usually know it. If not ...

No problem with your suggestion. I did put the body of the butterfly in the upper right 1/3 to get the power. Wanted to have a close up, as habitat was not possible with the background. ;)

    But thanks, appreciate the comment.
