Tough guys to deal with, making good images of these beauties is a sure blessing as they are always in dense forest and with literally no light around. they are found in the western ghats and northeast India.

Wish I had a cleaner BG, could not do much, Just wanted to share the species with my dear bird lovers across the world.

    Spec:1/80, F 6.3, ISO 800

have cloned out some branches around the bird.

What a beautiful bird. I like how you've presented this image so we can see the pattern of his feathers. I don't mind the upper part of the background, but the bottom needs some help! I'd remove the white thing and then perhaps try to blur it some. Perhaps others have better suggestions. Thanks for sharing it with us, I love seeing birds from other parts of the globe.

Beautiful dove, I like the colors, details and angle. Adding to Grace's comments, I wish for a bit more head turn towards you.

Beautiful bird; I've never seen this species before. I like the low angle. You've got plenty of DOF and the sharpness is good. A slight head turn towards you would have been nice. I would darken the BG and some of the bright FG elements a bit to help minimize the visual impact.

Kiran....lovely shot. I appreciate it a lot because I used to do a lot of birding in India and I know how hard it is to get such a shot there. The sun and shadows make it very challenging. The BG is never too far away from these birds.

I like the exposure on this a lot. the details in the green are excellent. Well done.

I agree with all the comments avobe, and although I LOVED the level of detail you've got and the great DOF, I am not crazy about the body anlge, still, great light, BG, colors, sharpness and terriic species!!! Congratulations!

    Kiran,
I like the image though I never like the over the shoulder stance. However, you have got good depth of field so the image looks good. Is it cropped or full frame? This is a very lovely bird. You can find it on the road however the moment you get down from the vehicle for a lower angle, they will fly away. Patience required to click this.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Thank you gentlemen for your kind word of appreciation and suggestions.

Yeah I do agree that a little head turn would have helped.

Sadyasachi, Yes the image is about 50% cropped. The best way to photograph them is to set up hides in forest openings.Shooting them on the road with a low angle is quite a task as you rightly pointed out.

I have tried out some PP stunts and blurred the BG out.

    Thanks again,

    Kiran.

Good PS work there with BG, but the Original BG IMO was very very nice as it was.

Yeah, agree about liking the OP very much. Nice capture mate and great to see a different species around. We have either this, or a similar species locally, but I am YET to even see, let alone, photograph one.

    Thanks for sharing.

Amazing detail and colours shown from this angle. Super pose, and I although your reposted BG is clean, it doesnt look natural, so I would leave your OP as is.

Killer bird--beautiful colors. I like the ground clean-up in the repost but either BKGR works for me. I disagree on wishing for a different/better head angle. With the bird facing away, 90 degrees (square to the imaging sensor) is perfect for me.
