Default Yellow warbler on yucca stem

I came across this yellow warbler actively feeding his young by catching bugs in these blooming yuccas. Just as I set up last pm, I lost the light. You can tell by my settings what I was working with. Weather is to improve but it's in a well trafficked area, so not sure if the bird will continue this behavior. Thanks as always for your thoughtful insights.

I like the overall feel, were you going for a high key look. What direction was the light?

Nice habitat/environment picture. Does it seem A tad soft due to slow shutter, great composition. I do not mind the bird centered, let's see what others say, nice.

You did well considering the light. I could see this also as a vertical crop.

Thanks everyone. Jeff, there was literally no light. It should have been behind me (setting sun) but a giant storm brewed up and that was the end of it. (I'm saving one from the day before when there was light for my upcoming 1000th post.:))

    Grace,

The background light, is that flash in the night air (maybe with moisture). ETTL (-2) would be fill-flash, not manual. Did the -2 cause that much of a bright spot behind the bird.

Jeff, this was fill flash. It was not total darkness (Just dark from a storm cloud behind me). The bg is water. I simply chose ETTL because the distance from me to subject was changing, mostly I opt for manual flash which gives me more controlled results.

    Got It,....

Now I understand, its water, Interesting BG. The high-key look, or close to it seems to be vogue - The picture has an easy feel to it.

Great job on the yellows, and I like the oriental feel to the image.

I think this has a really nice look and feel to it, I would prefer it a vertical.
