Not a captive bird, but in a refuge, where used to people. I guess like Florida birdies aye? ;)

Full frame, 300mm f/4L IS, 30D and I will retrieve the rest of the EXIF details in the morning (my morning not yours) :D

I love head portraits myself. :)

Pretty cool, I like the light, details, raised crest and eye contact and would only run NR on the BG.

Super close up Akos, and love the forward pose. Incredible detail, and how is that eye. Would like to see what the rest of this guy looks like. ( BTW, it must be midnight there now, as you are at least 8hrs ahead of us, and you still active on the site. ) Cheers mate.

Great species! Lovely light, nice colors, BG, atitude, exposure and detail. Agree about the NR needed in the BG. Big congratulations!

Excellent exposure control for both blacks and whites. Good head angle and texture in the plumage. Is that you reflected in the eye?

Thanks for the comments kind friends.

Fabs, I am not sure, perhaps. I will dig out the RAW image and zoom zoom zoom. Plus I got to provide EXIF as promised.

    Hola Rex, in Spanish Rey!

Great looking cormorant. Thanks for sharing it here. Love everything about this one, especially the eye. NR is mandatory here.

Oskosh, Excellent stuff as noted in above. Could it be tree reflections in the eye? (The reflections are a bit distracting to me.) Love the colors and the relatively short un-cormorant-like bill. You might wish to lose the white speck at the rear of the crest.

That would seem to mean that Fabs thinks that you look like a tree. Actually, she is not far off....
