Caught this little one at Satwiwa early in the morning. Commuting by plane and getting home at 9pm on Friday motivated me to get up at 6am on Saturday and get out there to meet the birdies! Was on the edge of shutter speed for this lens... The -2/3 EV may seem odd, but in these conditions my camera tends to overexpose.

    50D, EF400mm f/5.6
Aperture priority, f/5.6@1/320, evaluative metering EC -2/3 ISO 400 AWB
AI Servo autofocus using back button, HH, 580EX II FEC -2/3 E-TTL mode Evaluative

    Thanks for your comments.

Hi Kerry - love the berry in the mouth - sharp as a tack were it counts in the head/eye area.
Exposure looks on the money. Might crop a little from the RHS. Like the habitat.
    Like this a lot :)

    Hi Kerry,
I like the composition, image and capture...I like the frontal eye contact with his lunch in the bill...you have fine details and the color rendition is superb...looking forward to your next one...

I like this one a lot. Including the habitat enhances this for me. It helps me create a sense of place and scale. Well done!

I agree with the above comments. This is a wrentit, though not a bushtit. It is feeding on Mexican Elderberry, a favorite food of many birds.

Thank you Aidan. I get these two mixed up every time.
