As I was busy imaging the hunting Snowys at Wako this past weekend, this beauty flew up beside me and began focusing on the next meal. Even the shutter click didn't break the concentration (I was looking for a slightly better HA). The light was soft due to the very early sun filtered through wispy clouds on the horizon. You can see the soft light from the horizon in this beauty's eyes. It allowed for nice saturation of this aptly named herons colors. 1DMKIIN 400DO ISO 800 F5.6@1/200
I love everything about this one, esp. the SH, the duckweed, the BKGR, the HA, the image design, and the crop. Way to go!

awesome. really cant say more than what has said before. liked the razor sharpness of the beak. I also think there is a slight magenta cast. Was the bird in green shade? I use a 40d. None of the preset white balances do a good job if the bird is in shade of a green tree..thats my experience at least.
