This young gator was resting in shallow water on an overcast day outside the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuse center main building. This is full frame and I have played with various crops but could not decide on what would look best.

Suggestions and comments are welcome and very appreciated.

gators are tough for me. but one thing to consider is more eye contact. looks like this one would have benefited from a polarizar filter!

    Hi Mel

I like the idea of shooting down at the gator Can make different images. I like the way just a couple of parts are out of the water and you place the focus on the right place

Downloaded and tried a few things processing wise but not happy with results Was trying to select out of water parts and play with the opacity of rest Would like to see less transparency?

    Hi Mel,
I like what you were trying to do...I find that the background is a bit white washed for my taste, and would also like to see a little bit more of the eyes...looking forward to your next one...

I love the mood and the overhead view, thus am happy with the lack of eye contact. I like the diagonal placement of the subject but would liked to have seen the whole left front foot.
