    Default Down the Hatch!

Attempted to photograph the hand off from adult Black Skimmer to the chick but was simply too close. So, concentrated on the chick and its rather large catch....which it downed in an instant. Photographed just before sunset. C & C always welcomed and appreciated, Marina

Spectacular. Two and 1/2 sharp eyes! And the little beach plant adds to the image. I believe that the relatively huge fish may be a baby Southern Whiting. Does anyone know for sure? Froggie?

Is the bird a Least Tern?

    Where was the image created?

I like this as well. Perfect comp in my opinion and the inclusion of the plant really adds. Great angle on both the chick and the fish.

This is an awesome image Marina. I love the light, the compositional balance as Artie did touch on that too and the almost impossible to swallow fish. This little fellow has guts! :D
    Thanks for sharing.

Nice DoF, good exposure with light-tone on light-tone. I see manual mode - how did you meter?

Great picture, timing is everything, well done!

Great capture here, nice quality of light, good HA, and a good low shooting angle.

Excellent, Marina! Full of interest, techs right on, and just enough habitat.

Sweet light, and I like the softer colours in this. That fish looks to large for it to have gone down the hatch.

Gorgeous shot of this little one! Love the light, composition and setting. Of course the fish is the icing on the cake! Well done
