    Default Rose

Took this recently when I was photographing a bouquet of roses. Any C&C are welcome!

    Olympus SP-550 UZ
    f4.5 @ 1/30, ISO 200, -0.7 EV
Aperture priority mode, pattern metering, sunny WB, natural light
Processed in PS CS2; cropped, curves adjustment, reduced saturation a bit, selective color, noise reduction, and lightened the LRC

I like the composition and processing Would like seeing the exact point of focus but having trouble For these type views I normally like to go the other way and stop down Curious to see what the flower experts have to say !!! Excellent !!

I agree that stopping down is usually the way to go but I do like this image a lot. I feel there is enough focus on the center petals to keep my eye held but the bottom right corner...I'd like to see that "hole" cropped out or cloned over. It's the only thing pulling my eye away.

    Beautiful pinks in this!

Couldn't agree more with the others.

Thanks for the advice! This was my first time photographing roses and the light was giving me trouble, so I really appreciate your comments. In this repost, I cloned over the bottom right corner as Julie suggested. Let me know what you think.

Repost is much better. I know it is a small thing, but I would make the little dust spot at about 5:30 O'clock on the last full set of petals disappear. You accomplished good pinks that are usually hard to do well.

Thanks for pointing that out, Ed. I hadn't noticed it before. Thanks Anita for your comments as well.
