I photographed this today at Ding Darling. I think this was 1 of about 6 birds I saw today. Taken with my Sony A100 and Sigma 50-500 lense. Data= f/6.3, 1/250, 0 ev, ISO 400, 330mm. C & C's welcomed. Thanks for looking, John

..... one out of six is not bad John !!!!

Mixed light is tough but you did fine and the head is all in sun Would like the see the head flatter against the film plane This you should be able to see in the viewfinder and fire when it is right ... now having six birds I wouldn't be taking chances !!!!

btw on one of my trips to Ding years ago I encountered many spoons by the cross ditch and it was so good that I decided to return after getting back to Miami ... drove early the next morning to be in time ... went through twice without taking a picture. Also interesting the mosquitoes were out in force big time ... not bad the previous day !!! Day was not a waste .. had a good ice cream on the way out !!! :)

    Hi John,
I like the capture...you have fine details and a sharp eye...I like the color rendition...agree with Mr. Forns on the techs. I would suggest on running some noise reduction in the background...looking forward to your next one...

Hi John - I agree with AL'S Critique - Gus is correct some NR on the background would remove some of the noise that is present.
THE HA and teh angle of light - would be the biggies for me.

Heres a link to a Head Angle tutorial in the educational resources forum - worth a read.

    Looking forward to more :)

I think the NR took too much detail away from bird. I need to learn to do NR just on background.
