    ... young one, I think. Image made this morning at Peace Valley Park (Bucks County, PA).

    Canon 50D; 300mm f/2.8L IS lens w/ 2x TC; tripod-mounted

    1/1000 sec @ f/5.6; ISO 400; +1/3 EV; natural light

    Agree it seems like a young one, hard to tell for me, not knowing the species.
    Light is a bit harsh, giving a bluish cat to the bird. Neat BG and catch light. The OOF perch is a distraction, not sure you could have gotten enough DOF to avoid that.

    Nice pose, EXP and BG, Ed. Head looks a little soft on my monitor. I agree it is a juvenile.

    I like the pose, angle and BG. I would tone down the highlights, sharpen the bird more and put the bird a bit lower in the frame.
