    Default White-faced Duck

This shot was taken at a slow SS to show show wing movement.
Although the wings are not spread out, I think I achieved what I set out to do.
I wanted something different to the standard white faced duck flight shots.

    Camera: Canon 1D mk3
    Lens: Canon 500 f4
    App: f5.6
    SS: 1/500
    ISO: 400
    Exp biaz +0.33

Good EXP, nice sharp head and soft BG, Dave. I would take out the grasses intruding from the right, also add a little canvas to the top. With the 1DM3 and the 500 lens, you could have shot at ISO 800, higher SS so as to freeze the wings a little more.

very nice shot Dave,BG is magic, like the idea of bluring the wings, and like Keith said,I too would remove the grasses on the right, and more canvas on top.thanks

I agree on the grasses and canvas on top Dave, but I like the pose captured! head is absolutely pin sharp and good sense of motion captured in the wings.

PS: I have also reworked my WFD flight shot and some extra effort in PS helped, as you suggested ;)

Oh, these guys give us endless pleasure. Why do you get a dirty face so as not to worry about blowing the white on his face. Sharp where it counts Dave, and love the mottled colours in the BG. Im 50/50 on the grass, as it balances the comp.

Nice Dave! I like the wing movement here. Great pose and I also like how you included the grass on the right (some might not agree). Maybe add a little more saturation?

Love the degree of blurring on the wings. Count me in with the add-canvas-abovers and with the lose-the-grassers. Love the BKGR but for the whitish area near the head. If you do lose the grass and add canvas above I would advise adding canvas right as well.
