This Eastern Grey Squirrel is letting me know that it's cold outside. I think he is looking for a peanut. mI see that all the little critters have food and water in the winter. Picture taken with a Nikon D1X with a 300 MM F4.0 lens. ISO 200, f8.0 at 1/40sec
This little Chap/ess is having some fun in that snow
lovely facial profile and perspective..and love the closeness of shot ! And catchment light in the eye.. it's so cute !!!
If l have a little niggle would be maybe slight movement and maybe just crop vertical on the left so removing..the tuft of grass.. would be a tighter portraited crop ?... just my opinion.. and not an expert technically..!!!
I like the perspective and use of the 1/40 sec. shutter speed gave a nice blur to the front paws. However, that slow shutter speed also appeared to affect the critical focus on the eyes which are the sharpest point on the head. I would suggested you mask the eyes and sharpen them to increase the inherent sharpness there. That will result in a more pleasing look. You can then try another mask of the head and apply a lighter sharpening to increase sharpness there.
THis may help. I would also crop off more on the left and make the little guy center of the image (same distance on the left and right from squirrel to image edge. With him looking down the barrel at you, that will balance out the image.
Beautiful image.
A more simple adjustment would be to sharpen till nose is sharp which would also increase sharpness of right eye.
There again I'm pretty new to this editing game !!! LOL.
