    Default Wilson's Snipe

I trip to Carden Alvar Ontario did not produce too many shooting ops for me, but still came home with hundreds of shots of Wilson's Snipe.
    Here is one of them.
The OOF purplish colour in the background is the flowering Prairie Smoke which at some spots covered the entire field. Beautiful place. The perch is only a fence post but aged beautifully IMO.

An image like this has been on my wish list for some time now. The pose is very nice and the open beak and one-legged stance make it even better. The weathered post and clean background add to an excellent photo.

Howdy, Are you the tall Karl who leads trips at Pelee? Love the bird (have also dreamed of these for decades) and the BKGR. Like the weathered look of the perch and the lichens (???) but wish that the bark were not loose. Looks like a bit of motion blur on the lower face from the singing. Somme sharpening of the head and maybe the bird would help.

When I am working in the car and need to work off the top of the car I flip my BLUBB upside down and it works like a charm. Learn more about the BLUBB here: https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=12

I like the pose, aging perch, and BG here Karl. Wouldn't change a thing.

Beautiful background and lichen on the stump. I had zero snipe last time (the only time) I was there so good for you for getting this guy. Looks like the pose and light were perfect. Beautiful shot.

Super detail on the snipe, and what a killer BG. That perch sure has character.

    Thank you Artie.
Karl Koncz is the name of the very tall guy from Guelph. He is a very nice guy, great birder,
    but is not into photography.
I'm actually a much older and much shorter skinny guy, also from Guelph.:)

Hi Karl, YAW. Assuming that we have never met then I must know your name from BPN.... I agree about KK and did not think that he was a photographer. That is why I asked. I used to be a fat old guy... Am older still, but no longer fat.
